1.Coronavirus
Friday 4.12 has seen a rise in the number of Covid cases, for the second day in a row. This could lead to tightening the restrictions again according to the 5-levels plan of the government.

2.Social policy
Finance Ministry proposed to lower the VAT (value added tax) from 21% to 10% on menstrual products. This proposition echoes a recent scottish decision to make these products free. If approved by the deputies, the lowering of VAT could apply by spring 2021.

3.Politics
According to the European Commission, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis has a conflict of interest. Indeed, he is receiving EU money through his holdings of the company Agrofert. The EC recommend him either to step down from the government or to stop his connection with Agrofert.

4.Climate
High speed winds have cut thousands of households off electricity last week end. Approximately 1000 households are still witout electricity, and the winds might return this week.

A man who was reported missing to the police after getting out of his home with his pony, has been found a few kilometres away, drunk and claiming he had exchanged his pony for a bottle of brandy.
